This Is Why I Fell in Love with Photography

When I look back, I won’t crave the perfect smile—I’ll crave the truth. The softness in my mother’s hands, the wild joy in my child’s eyes, the quiet in-between moments that made me feel alive. This is the power of fine art photography. It’s not about how life looked—it’s about how it felt.

This is why I’ve fallen in love with fine art photography—
why I’ll always choose it over something posed, polished, or perfect.

The other day, I was talking with a dear photographer friend.
We found ourselves reflecting on time…
How fast it moves.
How much we long to hold on.

And I realized—when I’m older, I won’t be reaching for the photo where everyone smiled on cue.

I’ll be reaching for the one where my child was mid-laugh,
the one where my mother’s hands were wrapped around me,
where the light hit just right and I could feel her warmth again.
The one where I looked like myself—not performing, but present.

That’s the kind of work I do.

This isn’t about how you look.
It’s about what’s ready to be revealed.

Photography, for me, is a ceremony of returning—to your truth, to your body, to your story.

Whether I’m photographing a woman reclaiming her radiance,
a couple in the tender messiness of real love,
or a mother crossing the threshold into new life—
I’m not here to document perfection.
I’m here to witness something sacred.

This is what I offer:
Fine art portraits that breathe. That feel. That remember.
Images that say—you were here. You were alive. You were seen.

If you’re ready to root into your fullness,
to honor the soft, powerful, wild beauty that lives in you—
this is your invitation.

Return to yourself.
Remember who you are.
Let’s create something real.
